Map of the stars on a midnight blue background

Our Story

Two sisters started In Astra in 2020. Sofia Bardelli is the perfumer and Fabiola Bardelli is the creative director of this Italian niche perfume house. The name says where they look for ideas, because every In Astra fragrance begins with a star.

Perfume and the night sky

The sisters see the same pattern in both. A perfume changes on the skin as one note gives way to the next. A star changes too, burning, exploding and being born again in a cycle without end. Each fragrance joins something that fades with something that lasts. Sofia describes the house as a way to see the sky from a different angle and to hear what the stars have to say.

The collection

The house offers six fragrances, each an eau de parfum named after a star. Sofia Bardelli signs Antares, Betelgeuse, Mismar, Tistar and Wega, and Bertrand Duchaufour composed Vanant. The raw materials are carefully selected and the design is Italian, pared back to the essential.

Sisters Sofia and Fabiola Bardelli, founders of In Astra

Sofia Bardelli, perfumer

Sofia loved fragrance from childhood and shaped her studies around it. She moved to Grasse, the French town known for its perfume heritage, to train at the Grasse Institute of Perfumery. She credits Grasse with her taste for high quality raw materials, which she counts as her signature.

Fabiola Bardelli, creative director

Fabiola lived and worked abroad for several years before she returned to Italy. She came back to build a project with her sister around the three things she cares about most, which are perfume, travel and the stars.
